Summary: 

As a Dispatcher, you will assist transportation department in overseeing and developing team members’ productivity and efficiencies and to assist dispatching with contracted trucking carriers. You will be responsible for properly and efficiently carrying out all logistics, maintenance and transportation functions of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordinating and supervising of delivery team members and assign specific responsibilities which include; dispatching, route assignments, account processing, route delivery and other transportation related activities.
  • Arrange transportation for LTL/FTL east bound orders
  • Coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers
  • Sequence routes daily to keep loads even and profitable
  • Manage the preparation of delivery documents for truckers
  • Coordinate pick-ups/deliveries with Pacific Seafood facilities and cold storage locations
  • Emphasis is on customer service and productivity
  • Maximize safety
  • Ensure compliance of all Federal, State, Local and DOT Regulations and Requirements
  • Work closely with transportation supervisor and transportation manager to achieve targeted objectives and goals
  • Utilize business support systems to improve efficiency
  • Provide and promote a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years related experience.

Preferred

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Basic Desktop set up support (Phone and PC/Laptop)
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong Computer skills in MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel.
  • Strong data entry skills.
