Summary:
Our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Team is a vital group dedicated to ensuring all Pacific Seafood locations remain in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. As the EHS Manager, you will support the Regional VCQ Manager in the management, implementation, and continued improvement of Pacific Seafood’s EHS Programs. Your role collaborates with the EHS team and location administration to develop and implement programs that promote a healthy and safe work environment for team members and to create structured systems to manage and consistently improve our EHS compliance and initiatives. Your leadership in EHS improvements, injury prevention, and claims management will drive a reduction in EHS costs and risk exposure. You are an integral team member who is a consultant for facility administration and will educate, assist, and provide guidance to integrate EHS best practices into Pacific Seafood’s everyday business operations. You are adept at communication and collaboration and will work alongside the local EHS team members to ensure consistency and compliance of all necessary regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continually improve, evaluate, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures to protect team members and comply with company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify, develop, and coordinate the administration of training programs in a manner that raises team member awareness and enables team members and supervisors to work safely and in compliance with external and internal policies and regulations.
  • Develop programs for and assist in the implementation of inspections for equipment, e.g., cranes, hoists, scissor lifts, PIT, LOTO points, etc.
  • Work with Human Resources, EHS team members, and facility management to manage workers’ compensation claims, accommodate team members with transitional work restrictions, and reduce excess expense.
  • Work closely with workers’ compensation insurance carriers and third-party administrators to ensure claims are accurate, filed and closed expeditiously, and properly managed by internal personnel.
  • Coordinate and conduct annual EHS audits of Pacific Seafood facilities using EHS software.
  • Manage environmental permitting and compliance at Pacific Seafood facilities to ensure all required data collection, documentation, maintenance, reporting, and training for wastewater, stormwater, and/or air permits are properly maintained.
  • Develop programs, logs, and training for on-site team members to successfully fulfill current and future environmental permit regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate inspections and audits by regulatory agencies and customers.
  • Maintain all documents, logs, and permits in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required:
  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Health and Safety, Physical or Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience facilitating safety and environmental duties and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA compliance, EPA, and local, state, and federal environmental and occupational health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, with proven ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience working in food processing, manufacturing, or similar industry.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
