Summary:
The Category Coordinator provides essential support to the Category Management team, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication between departments, customers, and vendors. This role is responsible for helping to manage project schedules, process orders, prepare sales documents, and assisting in customer service and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Category and Vendor Support:- Assist category managers with the development and implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement processes.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of key material market suppliers and cost infrastructure.
- Assist category managers with negotiations with vendors for the procurement of all materials, supplies, equipment and services.
- Monitor costs and schedules.
- Assist category managers with directing contract terms and managing vendor contracts to track financial terms, renewal terms, and other important contractual terms.
- Be responsible for assisting in managing inventory sourcing on assigned group of programs
- Work with category managers with the development of price forecasts for key market drivers.
- Supply day-to-day management to ensure product availability and performance.
- Assists with the developing new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
- Ensure the materials purchased will be done on a timely basis and all business transactions are conducted in a professional manner.
- Review inventory, item movement/history, ad projections, and product supply; determine need and recommend or place orders.
- Communicate daily market conditions, incoming products, current inventory, and potential/current outages.
- Report variances with corrective actions to the sales manager and sales supervisor once per period.
- Generate weekly/monthly reports in order to monitor the team’s progress.
- Assisting with project management by creating assignments, tracking progress, and resolving issues.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of relevant experience
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred:
- Knowledge of crab or shrimp highly desired - priority consideration given
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- Advanced Mathematics

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $76,500 yearly
