Summary: 

Provides a variety of human resource assistance to the plant HR Manager, including recruitment and on-boarding activities, employee relations, and payroll processing. Ensures compliance with company policy and procedures, as well as local, state, and Federal regulations. Partners with Team Member Services to address HR issues in a timely, confidential, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs team member service support functions by answering team member requests and questions; investigate and respond to employee issues and concerns.
  • Screen incoming HR related phone calls and walk-ins; take and relay messages to HR team
  • Assist walk-in applicants with online application process using onsite Kiosks.
  • Assist with setting up interviews and HR related appointments.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring events, and team member orientations.
  • Assist with team member onboarding, to include processing new hire paperwork, pre-employment screenings, maintaining I-9 documentation, and creating personnel files.
  • Maintain time and attendance controls for payroll; prepares hourly payroll data for processing.
  • Maintains and promotes EEOC compliance during the recruitment and hiring process.
  •  Assists with coordinating community relations and safety programs
  • Informs the HR team of possible employee relations issues in a timely fashion
  • Perform routine filing activities
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one-year related experience or training

Preferred

  • Bilingual written, verbal, and reading skills in English and Spanish languages
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills – able to communicate and establish effective working relationships with all departments
  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource systems, Word and Excel.
